Do you have need of irrigation for agriculture, construction, municipal, or residential purposes? Lake pump systems are definitely an option you should consider. Using the water that is located in a nearby lake is much more environmentally responsible and actually cheaper in the long run than having your city's water supply as your sole source.Using a lake pump also prevents you from the chore and expense of having a well on your property. Despite what the old-timers claim, well water is not always the best water. It all depends on where you live and what has taken place on your land over the years. Often, well water can be full of different minerals and iron, which is not suitable for irrigation purposes.
Those who have experienced the use of city water that contains additives for the irrigation of their acreage, crops or residential vegetable gardens can tell you that the chlorine and/or fluoride that has been added to this water is definitely not good for your plants or your lawn. And, if you have a lake or pond nearby, these additives will leach into the soil and make their way into the water, which over time can damage the natural balance.
Lake pumps can also eliminate the need for you to use any form of chemical fertilizer on your crops or grass. This is also good for the environment. Whenever chemical fertilizers are used, they eventually end up in the lake water as well. This is terrible for the natural water balance, and is one reason why you will sometimes see the green or brown “bloom” of algae on the surface of a lake or pond. Water from a lake that has not been contaminated by man-made chemicals or natural minerals and iron is full of decayed vegetation and small animal matter that has built up over time. This is one of the best natural fertilizers in the world! If by chance you do feel the need to supplement this natural feeding, do use an organic fertilizer for best results from both the plants and the water.
Some people like to acquire lake pumps that are multi purpose. These pumps can also be used as portable lake cleaning pumps which will clean the bottom of the lake when too much sludge has built up and is causing the water to have an odor. Sometimes, this algae is from a form of algae that can grow on rocks in the bottom of the lake. This problem can be worse in the warm summer months. A portable pump makes cleanup a snap.
Lake pumps are used in many different circumstances. The city where you live more than likely makes use of municipal pumps to irrigate the city-owned golf course as well as the grassy areas in the city parks and recreational facilities. These pumps are very easy to install, and are quite reliable, meaning that those who use them have few worries about pumps that decide to stop working. They also require very little maintenance. A lake pump could be the answer to all of your irrigation needs.
