Marketing article: 7 Breakthrough Tips for Profiting with Niche Marketing
Article Tips > Marketing
You've found the niche, created your sales letter, and hooked up your shopping cart. You sit back and wait for the money to come rolling in from your "undiscovered niche".
Everyday you check your bank account and your sales number doesn't move an inch. It still reads zero, zilch, nada. You pull out your credit card and purchase some Google Adwords ads, but although your website is getting traffic – it still isn't making any money.
What went wrong?
You know that you are close to a breakthrough but you still feel that your a key ingredient to for niche marketing success. Here a 7 simple and powerful tips for transforming your niche market into a steady, growing stream of income:
1. Passion is Priceless Niche Markets are filled with people who are passionate about their interest or hobby. They spend hours researching, discussing, and working on their interest. This means that they can smell-out an "Poser" in 30 seconds flat. So pick niches that you are naturally drawn to – that way you can genuinely offer products and services as a resource.
2. Focus on Your Customers "LTV – Life Time Value" Savvy marketers understand the "Life Time Value" of their customers. They understand that to become wealthy as an entrepreneur you must sell multiple items to the same customer. Remember that the first sale is just an invitation to continue offering quality products on a regular basis.
3. Be a Stealth Marketer Unless you have an established track record in a niche community, you will need to "go slow" at first. This doesn't mean taking a year to warm-up to the community. But it does mean taking the time to visit and research the forums frequented by your future customers.
Make sure that you learn the lingo and the jargon that "Niche Insiders" use to identify the "true believers". Concentrate on finding and recording the problems that are in need of quality solutions. In this case, you want to "lurk" before you leap.
4. Trust is the Only Currency Niche marketers are savvy and are extremely good at identifying and "outing" and greedy marketer that wants the "quick sale". I suggest spending at least 30 – 60 days establishing trust with your potential customers. Like in a relationship, trust is built through time and showing your genuine interest in the community.
Trust can be built by contributing in forums, offering useful tips and insights, giving away free reports, and writing articles that interest your new niche community. Follow this strategy and your potential customers will beat down the door to purchase your products. In niche marketing patience is truly a virtue.
5. Get a Sponsor Resist the urge to become the "Top Dog" in your niche until you have built a solid base of support and trust (see Tip 4). Remember, there are experts in every market. And it may be better for you to find the "current expert" and work on forming a close relationship that can be successfully used to set up profitable joint ventures.
6. Don't Dump and Run
Holster that "$27 eBook Tiger!" Remember that we know that the folks in your niche are experts. Simply showing up with an "incredibly powerful secret" eBook will only raise suspicion. Trust me, your prospects knows when a marketer is looking for the quick sale. Before you sell your first item, plan how you will continue to deliver quality products and/or services over the long-term.
7. Finding the Niche is only Half the Battle
You've found the niche, but now this is where the work starts. Don't be lured by the quick money crowd. While setting up simple pay-per-click sites will deliver a short term income boost, you will burn out your audience. Simply, wh ywould you spoil a niche with a content-lite that has taken you hours, days, or weeks to find?
So take the time to create a micro-business around your niche. Your business should have a steady stream of quality products, responsive customer service and a focus on building profitable relationships.
You will be ahead of the "dump and run" artists if you view your niche as a long-term investment that will return dividends. In a short time you will find that you have gained the respect of your niche and they will reward your investment with a growing profit stream.
