VOIP which stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol is also widely known as IP telephony. VOIP is becoming very poplar with consumers, and why not, the cost saving can really add up.

Most VOIP providers offer similar services as your current phone service providers. They offer great rates for long distant or international calls, that traditional phone service providers just can't. With two users using VOIP they could talk cost free for as long as they would like. It seems that current phone service providers as while as some internet providers, are starting to jump on the band wagon. They are now offering this service to their current customers as a way to try to keep you as a customer.

As with any new technology, it will keep improving as time goes by and if you wait you will undoubtably end up getting a better product by waiting. However with the current cost saving out their wait for you, maybe now is the time to jump on the VOIP or Internet telephony bandwagon, and start saving today.
